Striving to be a Mistake Free Company
You have heard about work places sayings “This is a Smoke Free work environment well now Mondoro has added to this by putting up signs in all our offices that say b>Striving to be a Mistake Free Company./i>

Mistakes in business occasionally happen, but our first goal is avoid careless mistakes. Careless mistakes hurt the most because they should be easiest to avoid. Each of our employees has agreed to strive to work to eliminate careless mistakes during 2008 and for the upcoming years.

In our annual meetings we had earlier this year, Anita Hummel, President of Mondoro set as our highest priority that we should work to eliminate all careless mistakes that affect our customers. Often all that the employee needs to do is to go the extra mile to check things more carefully. Since starting this campaign, our careless mistakes have decreased significantly in our China and Vietnam offices. We are not perfect with this goal, but it is something we are daily working to achieve.

Quality: Our inspectors have worked hard to be very tough on inspections and to ensure that all their inspection reports are properly completed. At Mondoro we require our inspectors to complete two written reports for all our inspections. The first is called the DUPRO which is an inspection report that takes place during production process. The second is the Final Detailed Inspection Report (FDI) which is completed before goods are shipped. All our inspectors have the necessary equipment such as laptops, cameras and moisture meters to help them to record efficiently and report all data required. This inspection data is then electronically transmitted to the office for immediate review.

Organization: We have also spent a lot of time training staff on how paperwork (and computer entry) is essential for the proper operation of the company. Our industry is an industry that requires a lot of details for production. All this must be well organized and accessible. At Mondoro we produce as required in the customer’s specifications, so there can be special requirements or details that we must be checked carefully before manufacturing. Since each customer has custom produced products close supervision of production is required.

Most customer instructions need to be translated into Chinese or Vietnamese and then explained carefully in these languages because of possible translation difficulties. Many of our customers many not fully understand the behind the scenes effort and organization that must take place to be able to produce their products in a foreign land. Orders large or small have similar challenges.

Development: Another constant challenge is training our design and finishing departments in Vietnam and China to understand fully what our customers require. Getting into the mind of the customer is required to fully know what they like and dislike. Experience is a good teacher, but a close relationship with our customers is also needed. Our staff are organized into teams so that an institutional memory is developed to help us serve you better. Creativity is not a simple process and requires the best effort of everyone working together.

Mondoro’s b>Striving to be a Mistake Free Company./i> signs are put in a place as a daily reminder about how important it is to eliminate careless mistakes. This mistake free campaign will continue for years to come. We expect that the results will show in our customer satisfaction and improved sales. Hard times call for extra effort!!
